This tutorial will walk you through the process of developing a simple guestbook for your website using PHP pages and the MySQL database. An ASP & Access database guestbook will be covered at a later time. First, you will want to make sure you have all the neccessary components installed on the server you're going to work on. I will use Apache as my web server, but you can choose to use a different web server.

This tutorial covers:

• Downloading and Installing Apache, MySQL & PHP if you do not already have them installed on your server. This is a brief overview.
• Project Plan: discovering the scope and requirements of the project. A project, no matter how simple, always goes smoother with a properly thought out strategy or plan.
• Designing & Creating the Guestbook Database. This covers the design and creation of the database for our guestbook example.
• Coding the Guestbook Pages: This covers the PHP coding of our guestbook.
